At Unitopia, attending an event is about much more than simply showing up. It is an agreement. It is a choice to step into a shared space with intention, care, and personal responsibility.
Our event agreement is simple and powerful:
By attending, you agree to positively enhance everyone’s experience and take responsibility for the energy you contribute.
This is the foundation of our community. Unitopia creates a safe container with a clear and strict agreement for entry: each of us is responsible for helping make the space more connected, more respectful, more creative, and more alive.
Embracing an ethos of kindness and compassion, our community thrives on creativity and civic responsibility, fostering deep connections and celebrating the beauty of radical self-expression.
What does that mean in practice?
It means coming to an event with an open heart. It means leaving your beef at home and making a genuine effort to meet others with kindness, compassion, and respect. It means remembering that every person in the room is a whole human being carrying their own story, hopes, fears, and sensitivities.
It also means being brave. If you have had an awkward or difficult experience with someone else in attendance, Unitopia asks more of you than avoidance or silent resentment. We ask you to lean toward courage. To begin a vulnerable conversation. To open the door to reconciliation and healing. Not because every conflict can be instantly resolved, but because community deepens when people choose honesty, accountability, and heart over distance and defensiveness.
A vast majority of tension between people is almost always rooted in miscommunication. So much pain can soften when someone is willing to say, “Can we talk?” So much connection becomes possible when we assume less, listen more, and approach one another with curiosity instead of judgment.
To attend a Unitopia event means being genuine. It means acting from the heart. It means taking responsibility for yourself, your actions, and the energy you bring into the space. Every interaction matters. Every word matters. Every presence shapes the collective experience.
And when someone’s experience becomes uncomfortable, we do not look away. We speak up. We turn to a Steward so they can help navigate or mediate the dynamic with care. Asking for support is not a failure. It is part of how we protect the integrity of the container and the wellbeing of the community.
This is how trust is built. This is how safer, more beautiful spaces become possible. Not because conflict never happens, but because we commit to meeting it with responsibility, compassion, and a shared desire to care for one another.
Unitopia is an opportunity to practice the world we want to live in. A kinder world. A more compassionate world. A more loving world. And that work begins here, in community, with each of us.
There is a wisdom in the idea that if there is to be peace in the world, there must be peace between countries; if there is to be peace between countries, there must be peace in cities; if there is to be peace in cities, there must be peace between neighbors; and if there is to be peace between neighbors, there must be peace at home.
At Unitopia, we begin closer still: with ourselves, with our relationships, and with the energy we bring into shared space.
That is what it means to attend a Unitopia event.
It means you are not just a guest.
You are a co-creator of the experience.
